Morley, Frank, 1961The Great North Road, Hutchinson.  Despite the title this book doesn’t have much about the Great North Road.  It is a history of England with the theme of the spread of ideas up and down the road, running through the narrative.  There is little evidence that Morley actually travelled much further north than The Angel, Islington.
