Sedgley

Probably dating from the early 1920s, the trough was provided by a local animal lover who took pity on the plight of the horses that had to pull heavy carts up a steep hill. After road improvements it lay derelict in a field alongside the main Wolverhampton Road.  It was recovered for refurbishment by the Friends of Kidderminster Town Station in 1997 for use during Heavy Horse and Gala weekends. In August 2000, following a  heritage initiative by the council, it was donated back to Sedgley to be placed within its original heritage setting. But first a pattern to cast a replica was constructed and a new trough made which has remained at Kidderminster.
